Governor Brown Signs AB499 Allowing Shots Without Parental Consent
A recent article in the Healthy Home Economist discusses a bill that Governor Brown of California passed into law that allows children as young as 12 to receive injections of the Human Papillomavirus, Hepatitis B, and any other STD vaccine that comes down the pike in the future.
So what's the big deal?
The 12 year old child doesn't need their parents' consent.
Yep. No parental consent. But wait! If the child gets sick or handicapped because of the drug that the parents didn't know their child allowed a physician to give, then the parents have no legal recourse against the manufacture or the physician. Our children do not need our permission to get vaccinated, our young daughters do not need their parents' permission to have an abortion, parents cannot spank their children, but yet parents are supposed to be responsible for their children?
I remember a time as a child when my school day started with the Lord's Prayer. Then ONE woman had that taken away from us. (As a side note, look how much violence has increased in schools since God was removed.) One person makes a big difference. We, as Americans, sat back and let this happen. Now our children have more rights than their parents.
It is time to quit sitting back and begin to take action. We need to let those that are supposed to be representing us know that we have had enough. In Tennessee the parents want to retain the rights to raise their children, make the medical decisions for their children, take them to the doctor to get their shots, be able to hold their hands and let them cry instead of finding out they had a abortion, alone, scared, and in pain, and we want God back in school.
Children are not intelligent or mature enough to make medical decisions on their own, especially at 12-years old. That is the job of parents. This law passed in California, and it has set a precedent for other states to follow.
