Fountainhead College of Technology is proud of our designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAEIAE) by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
Why is this important? This prestigious designation recognizes Fountainhead’s Network Security & Forensics bachelor’s degree program as one of the best in the nation.
Fountainhead College is one of only nine Centers of Academic Excellence nationwide that grant all six certifications that meet standards from the National Security Agency Committee on National Security Systems.
Also, this program is the only cybersecurity bachelor’s degree offered by the CAEIAE in East Tennessee, and Fountainhead is the only college in the state that offers all six national certifications offered by the CAEIAE.

By matching Fountainhead's curriculum to standards created by the National Security Agency’s (NSA) Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), the NSA authorizes Fountainhead College of Technology to grant six CNSS certificates upon program completion. We are always looking for ways to improve our offerings. As part of our outreach program, we welcome inquiries from potential partnerships, guest speakers, and those with innovative ideas.
This partnership was formed in April 2004 and responds to Priority III of the President's National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace that directs the Federal Government to foster training and education programs to support the Nation's cybersecurity needs, and to increase the efficiency of existing Federal cybersecurity programs. The President's National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace refers to cyberspace as the nervous system of our Nation's critical infrastructures, and indicates that the healthy functioning of cyberspace is essential to our economy and our national security. Securing cyberspace presents a difficult strategic challenge, and information assurance education is a critical component in successfully meeting that challenge.
The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security jointly sponsor the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education program.
