  • Encyclopedia Britannica Online. Searching and Browsing available.
  • Encyclopedia.com. Includes links to newspaper articles, scholarly encyclopedia articles, and a variety of other entries from numerous sources.
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL).  A database in the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) largely comprised of encyclopedias. (Deselect other databases and scroll down to find GVRL.)
  • Wikipedia  The largest and most inclusive source of topics in the world. Caveat emptor: Staff attempts to review all content to assure it meets certain publication standards, and it provides warnings when published content has noticed weaknesses. Staff is not able to review the details for accuracy. The content may or may not be peer reviewed.
