3 semester credit hours
This course introduces the student to basic uses and applications of computers and computerized control systems. Office productivity applications are explored including common desktop and emerging cloud computing applications. Students will understand the different components of a personal computer, basic computer networking and related information assurance issues. Basic micro-controllers operation is also explained. Labs consist of assigned practice, projects and/or case studies relating to topics covered. Prereq: None. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work.
