3 Semester Credit Hours
This course teaches students a foundation for understanding the chemical properties of materials, the way these properties can impose limitations on the operation of equipment and systems in nuclear facilities, and related hazards. The course includes information on the fundamentals of chemistry, reactor water chemistry, principles of water treatment, and hazards of chemicals and gases. Prereq: M103. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work.
