CO301 Intermediate Diagnosis Coding

Diagnostic codes are used to group and identify diseases, disorders, symptoms, and medical signs, as well as to measure morbidity and mortality. This advanced coding course focuses on diagnostic coding, interpretation, sequencing accuracy and more. Labs consist of assigned practice and projects relating to topics covered. Course contains 2 semester hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work. Prerequisite: MC206
