Instruction is given on basic outpatient coding requirements, typical difficulties with interpreting and coding outpatient procedures, application of coding guidelines to ensure accurate coding assignment, and identifying the necessary documentation for coding assignment. Labs consist of assigned practice and projects relating to topics covered. Prereq. – MC209. Course contains 2 semester hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work.
