CP307 SQL AND SQL Server

3 Semester Credit Hours

In this course students will gain an understanding of relational database design and SQL programming presented in a business context using database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. Major topics include: introduction to relational database design, E-R diagrams, nomalization and SQL. Students will use SQL to create tables, modify tables, update records, retrieve data from single and multiple tables, create subqueries, create views and store procedures. Labs consist of assigned practice, projects and/or case studies relating to topics covered. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester clock hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work. Prerequisite: DB201
