CP308 XML Web Services

3 Semester Credit Hours

This course addresses the need for high-performance, cross-platform web solutions developed with (Extensible Markup Language (XML) in the Microsoft .NET framework.  This course covers concepts, technology and applications of XML and insights on relevant standards, .NET classes, and key design and development techniques.  Students will exploit core technologies such as XML, Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) protocol, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and emerging specifications and tools to create effective and efficient Web services. Labs consist of assigned practice, projects and/or case studies relating to topics covered. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work. Prerequisite: WS201
