NU102 Nuclear Operations Fundamentals

This course teaches the fundamental elements to ensure safe nuclear operations. This course covers a range of safety topics that include radiological safety, personnel safety, and personnel conduct. Laboratory work in this course includes radiological worker practical factors. The topics included are Human Performance Improvement/Error Reduction, Nuclear Facility Safety Basis, Conduct of Operations, Integrated Safety Management System, Communication Systems, Technical Procedure Use & Adherence, Radiological Documentation, and Radiological Worker II Practical. Prereq: RP101 Radiological Fundamentals I, RP102 Radiological Fundamentals II, and NU101 Nuclear Industry Standards. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work.
