OS305 Linux Security

3 Semester Credit Hours

Students will learn to create a security concept, configure server host security, configure and manage AppArmor, basics and practical application of cryptography, implement network security, design a general firewall, understand and setup packet filtering, configure and manage application-level gateways, configure virtual private networks (VPNs), and configure intrusion detection and incident response actions. At the end of classroom instruction, students will be challenged (and should be able) to perform various scenarios based on business requirements similar to those in a production environment. Labs consist of assigned practice, projects and/or case studies relating to topics covered. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work. Prerequisite: OS304
