3 semester credit hours
This course addresses the skills needed to secure new positions in technical and supervisory areas. Exercises and role-plays assist participants in understanding relationships and attitudes that influence the workplace and in understanding the fundamentals of supervising. Topics include resume writing, employer communications, effective interviewing skills, evaluation and development of attitudes and goals, the supervisor’s job and supervising problem employees. Labs consist of assigned practice, projects and case studies relating to topics covered. Course contains 2 semester hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work.
