4 Semester Credit Hours
This course teaches the additional radiological fundamentals beyond RP101 that provide a foundation of applied knowledge and skills for radiological protection. This course includes the following topics: Biological Effects of Radiation; Radiological Protection Standards; ALARA; External Exposure Control; and Internal Exposure Control. Prereq: RP101 Radiological Fundamentals I. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 2 semester credit hour (60 clock hours) of laboratory work. This course supports the Radiological Protection Technology program by providing fundamental basics necessary to have an understanding of radiological protection.
