RP202 Radiological Work Control

4 Semester Credit Hours

This course teaches work practices and controls applied by a Radiological Control Technician to ensure the safety of personnel who work in radiation and contamination areas. This includes application of access control and monitoring radiological conditions during work evolutions. This includes laboratory work in a simulated radiological work area.

Prereq: E103 English Composition, E201 Technical Writing and Communications, RP101 Radiological Fundamentals I, RP102 Radiological Fundamentals II, RP103 Radiation Detection Instrumentation, RP201 Radiological Monitoring & Control, and RP203 Radiological Respiratory Protection.

Course contains 3 semester credit hours (45 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work. This course supports the Radiological Protection Technology program by providing the student the knowledge and skills of establishing controls for the workplace and how to ensure personnel safety when providing work survey coverage.
