3 Semester Credit Hours
This course teaches the requirements for radiological respiratory protection, methods for monitoring airborne radioactivity, equipment used to measure airborne radioactivity, and controls to ensure the safety of the workers. This includes laboratory work for the operation of airborne radioactivity sampling and measurement. Prereq: RP101 Radiological Fundamentals I and RP102 Radiological Fundamentals II. Course contains 2 semester credit hours (30 clock hours) of lecture and 1 semester credit hour (30 clock hours) of laboratory work. This course supports the Radiological Protection Technology program by providing the student the regulatory requirements, types equipment used, and how to use the equipment to ensure the safety of personnel.
