Tom Heck

 

Tom Heck: General Education Instructor

Mr. Heck is a retired Public school teacher. He taught in the Knox County system for 25 plus years. In addition to teaching History, Government, Psychology, Sociology, Personal Finance and Economics “Coach Heck” coached football and track for 30 years at Rule High School, Doyle High School, South-Doyle High School, Central High School and Knoxville Catholic High School.

Mr. Heck has a Bachelor of Science in History, a Masters of Arts in Curriculum from the University of Tennessee and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

Jamie Bumpus

Jamie Bumpus: General Education Instructor

Jamie Bumpus graduated from the University of Tennessee, Martin, in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and history. In 2014, he received his Master of Science degree in journalism and electronic media from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

He has worked in a variety of professional media, starting with The Fulton (Kentucky) Leader newspaper, where he served as sports editor from 1993 to 1995. In 1996, he worked as a sports commentator for WOBT-TV, Union City, Tennessee, and as news director for Thunderbolt Broadcasting, a radio chain based in Martin, Tennessee. Mr. Bumpus then worked as a newspaper copy editor, first for the State Gazette in Dyersburg, Tennessee (1996-1999), and then for the Knoxville News Sentinel (1999-2008). He also is a former member of the Society of Professional Journalists.

While in graduate school, he was an adjunct faculty member and teaching assistant for UTK’s School of Journalism and Electronic Media. Mr. Bumpus joined the faculty of Fountainhead College of Technology in January 2016.
